NHS Health Scotland selects MetaCompliance Advantage to comply with Information Governance standards

MetaCompliance Advantage was the compliance solution of choice for NHS Health Scotland. The key driver for the organisation was the need to comply with stringent NHS Information Governance standards which require that evidence is submitted demonstrating policy agreement and understanding.

MetaCompliance Advantage’s unique use of active directory replication enables granular targeting and communication delivery directly to the desktop while it’s intelligent desktop control gives complete flexibility with scheduling.

Brian Orpin, Information Governance & Risk for NHS Scotland explained: “NHS Health Scotland purchased MetaCompliance Advantage to enable the organisation to provide assurance that key policies are delivered to our staff and provide the ability to asses the level of understanding of those policies.

The need to do this was driven by the Information Governance Standards which require the organisation to demonstrate, that policies are known and understood by all staff.  We also hope that in the future the tool will provide us with the ability to store all our policies under one structure.

MetaCompliance was largely chosen because it uses a heterogeneous architecture.  As an organisation, a large percentage of our staff use laptops, so having a system that did not require network access was a significant deciding factor.  This means that we have the ability to restrict access to the systems if policies have not been agreed. 

Other factors that were considered were the ability to use the tool to present eLearning in a way that maintains a record of who has completed the training.  This data can be fed back to managers through the portal enabling the organisation to see where it stands in completing mandatory training.”
