Law Expert Removes the Shroud of IT Security Uncertainty
March 27, 2006
IT Professionals within UK organisations are challenged daily by the ever increasing threat of security failure. Threats are wide ranging from the use of memory sticks, to blogging, to the actions of an aggrieved employee.
In order to provide some direction on the statutory obligations required by UK Law in terms of security expectations, Calyx UK invited leading solicitors Taylor Walton to advise its clients.
Held in the Intergraph Technology Centre, this event saw subject matter specialists provide delegates with guidance on best practice solutions to protect their enterprises against security failure.

Delegates were exposed to the latest two-prong approach for protecting against security failure. Presenters such as Array Networks, Swivel Secure and Bluecoat focused on protecting networks from external threats. Baronscourt Technology showcased its effective and robust IT software that protects from inside security threat whilst providing regulatory compliance.
"Security is not an elective option and UK companies must adopt a best practice approach such as ISO 270001 in dealing with the threat of security failure”, shared Robbie O’Brien from Baronscourt Technology, “According to Gartner, 70% of all security incidents come from insiders thus positive employee behaviour must be shaped,” continued Mr O’Brien.
Baronscourt Technology and Calyx (UK) Limited entered into partnership earlier this year to provide best practice solutions to the increasing security and compliance challenges faced by UK organisations.
