Scam of the Week – Netflix

A very well executed scam email campaign has been targeting Netflix subscribers aiming to gather personal information and payment details from those who subscribe to the streaming service.

The well designed, personalised email convinces customers to update their account information to avoid suspension. It comes along with the subject line “Your suspension notification”, the email also contains a link to a fake Netflix page which asks for log-in information and card details.

The illegitimate website is well crafted to include the Netflix logo as well as popular Netflix shows like ‘The Crown’ and ‘House of Cards.’

The scam has targeted over 110 million Netflix subscribers.

Remember, always report any suspicious email like this to the IT security or support department of the company it imitates and delete any email you think may be a phishing scam.
