MetaCompliance will be attending the annual Corporate Counsel Exchange event taking place from 10th – 12nd October 2016 in Germany. This is the 15th Crystal Anniversary of the Corporate Counsel Exchange and it will gather 80 General Counsel from across Europe to take part in practical insights, lively discussions and interactive workshops. This event is the perfect platform for MetaCompliance to demonstrate their award winning Cyber Security and Compliance Awareness solutions.
The MetaCompliance CEO, Robert O’Brien, will host an interactive workshop session entitled “GDPR – Key approaches to changing employee awareness and education of the new data protection regulations”.
The initial proposal for GDPR was released on 25 January 2012 and the EU Council formally adopted a political agreement on its text on 14th April 2016. The regulation will take effect after a two-year transition period and, unlike a directive, it won’t require any enabling legislation to be passed by governments. The challenge for most organisations is how they can prepare their employees to meet the challenge of these new privacy laws, as well as how to minimize cost and time in the execution of this project.
This workshop will look at ways that organisations can ensure compliance with the new laws, through the introduction of practical staff education and awareness programs. These activities will ensure that employees are aware of the importance of the new regulations and how it will change the way they handle personal data as part of their job role.
