Gloucestershire County Council implements Policy System to Ensure Policy Compliance and Protect Customer Data

January 9, 2013

Metacompliance are delighted to welcome another UK County Council, Gloucestershire County Council, to their growing list of Local Government customers.
Jenny Grodzicka, Corporate Information and Compliance Manager at Gloucestershire explained how the new Policy Management Software has enabled them to easily and effectively engage with staff, ensuring user awareness of information security policies and procedures. The automation software also allows the Council to capture and evidence employee agreement to policies and procedures, which is essential for management reporting and compliance with government legislation.

“The MetaCompliance software has given us an easy way to send all our employees the policies and key messages they need to read in relation to Information Security and Compliance. So far, we have sent all staff the Internet Acceptable Use Policy and an email good practice message and we have plans to send out more. We have also been able to direct content to specific users, such as our GCSx Acceptable Use Policy. MetaCompliance then enables us to see who has been sent the content and when they agreed to it; essential evidence for managing our systems. We are now implementing the new MyCompliance element of the tool, which will allow users to read content in their own time and look back at which policies they have read and agreed to. MetaCompliance have provided us with exceptional customer service and their excellent staff are always on hand to answer any queries we have.”

Speaking on behalf of Metacompliance Ltd, MD Robert O’Brien added:

“Gloucestershire County Council joins a growing list of Local Councils in the UK who have adopted a best practise approach to information security, we are delighted to be working with them to make compliance easier for management and staff and think it’s fantastic they are already seeing the benefits of using Metacompliance. Gloucestershire County Council should be congratulated for taking steps to safeguard their customer’s information, as well as mitigating the risk of a hefty ICO fine, important in the current economic climate of efficiency savings.

Management at the Council have recognised that MetaCompliance’s commitment to developing their product portfolio through innovative software development is key to automating their evolving Governance and Compliance needs over time.”
