Metacompliance is proud to welcome Brunel University London to its portfolio of clients. Established in 1966, Brunel University London is a world-class institution based in Uxbridge, West London. It aims to produce “a world-class creative community that is inspired to work, think and learn together to meet the challenges of the future.”
Brunel identified the need to cultivate their compliance culture and improve staff awareness of data management. The university recognised that user engagement with company communications was not guaranteed. Brunel also identified that accountability wasn't enough in the modern cyber age and that staff had to understand as well as just respond to university communications. Due to these concerns Brunel decided to invest in the Metacompliance Policy Management software. Mary Liddell Information Officer for Brunel University stated “Metacompliance software will allow us to target and engage all staff within our Information Governance and compliance programme. We will now be able to confirm that user specific content is read and fully understood meaning that all staff are fully aware of their responsibilities regarding university data. If necessary, we can use the software to identify high risk groups that require additional training to reduce the risk of an incident due to human error.”
Brunel University London identified the Metacompliance staff awareness software as the most cost-effective and time-efficient product on the market: “Getting staff to sign these communications would have been a long and costly process but by using the automation and reporting functionality within the software, we can reduce the allocation of time and money spent in maintaining best practice information assurance within the university.” The unique capabilities of the Metacompliance suite will now ensure that Brunel maintains the highest standards of compliance.
Metacompliance Finance Director, Mrs Judith O’Brien said “we are delighted that another important educational establishment has invested in our compliance automation to increase student and employee awareness. Privacy is increasingly being recognised within colleges and universities as a core business issue. The risk of reputational damage given the competitive global environment that education organisations operate within, means that best practice information security and the avoidance of data breaches is important."
Metacompliance very much looks forward to working with Brunel University London.
MetaCompliance has a clear vision of making Compliance and IT Security easier for organisations. The software can ensure the active participation of all staff in compliance initiatives such as policies, eLearning, and surveys, thus mitigating the risk of compliance incident and the associated fines. The software can be used to demonstrate that staff understand compliance obligations by being tested with questions. The ability to deliver increased user participation in compliance and IT Security campaigns provides the necessary audit information to generate reports that demonstrate the organisation’s “duty of care” to Regulators.
